Description

With the Spectroquant photometers from the Prove series MilliporeSigma offers an innovative solution for all types of water testing.

Whether you’re analyzing waste water, drinking water or process water, the three most important requirements of a spectrophotometer are simplicity, security and durability. MilliporeSigma has developed a new class of spectrophotometers that perfectly unites all these features. Intuitive, innovative and preprogrammed for the broadest range of test kits, Spectroquant® Prove makes water analysis smoother than ever.

Spectroquant® Prove is available in three versions, so you can select the one that perfectly suits your requirements:

Spectroquant® Prove 100 - Smart VIS spectrophotometer for routine applications, such as wastewater analysis.
Prove 100 is the ideal spectrophotometer for wastewater analysis. It offers fast, easy and reliable results with direct insertion of cell tests and over 180 preprogrammed test kits. Enjoy high quality and economy in a smart device.

Spectroquant® Prove 300 - Robust UV/VIS spectrophotometer for sensitive measurements, such as the analysis of drinking water and beverages.
Prove 300 is perfect for analyzing drinking water or beverages. It allows UV/VIS analysis and automatically detects reagent tests for secure measurement of sensitive parameters like manganese and sulfate.

Spectroquant® Prove 600 - Powerful UV/VIS spectrophotometer for complex analyses, such as process water testing.
Prove 600 offers maximum sensitivity for process water analysis. Compatible with cuvettes of up to 100 mm, it helps you detect the lowest possible levels of impurities to prevent damages to cooling and boiler water systems.

ICUMSA Methods on the Spectroquant® Prove

The Spectroquant® Prove 300 and Spectroquant® Prove 600 have wavelength ranges of 190 to 1100 nm. Both instruments use a double beam for measurement stability and a xenon flash lamp for long life. This application note demonstrates that the Spectroquant® Prove 300 and Spectroquant® Prove 600 are suitable for determining the color of sugar solutions using ICUMSA methods.

Photometric Determination of Sulfite in Shrimps

Sulfites are often used as preservatives in food like dried fruit and preserved vegetables. Although shrimp are sometimes treated with sulfites on fishing vessels, the chemical may not appear on the label. This application note demonstrates a photometric method for the determination of sulfite content in shrimp samples using the Spectroquant® Prove.

Bromate in Water and Drinking Water

Bromate can occur in drinking water treatment in the oxidation of bromide-containing waters with ozone. Bromates are carcinogenic, these substances in drinking water are undesirable and there are limits for drinking water in many countries. The EU drinking water directive prescribes as a maximum allowable concentration of Bromate in drinking water by 0.010 mg/l BrO3- (or 10 μg/l BrO3-). The same limit is also in the WHO guideline for drinking water. Local regulations often prescribe these limit values too. This application note provides an overview of the methods available from MilliporeSigma.
