Effortless tip loading and ejection
Achieving a reliable seal with standard tips relies heavily on the strength (and persistence) of the user. Conventional pipette shaft-ends and tips are cone-shaped, so a tight seal relies on the strength of the user and pliability of the tip material. What’s more, tip geometries vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, affecting the seal consistency and the accuracy of dispensed volumes.
LTS shafts and tips are cylindrical with a unique sealing ring inside the tip. Tips slide easily onto the shaft, stop when properly seated and make a perfect seal every time. Once seated, LTS tips won’t fall off, yet slide off easily when pushed by the ejector.
Good ergonomics = better, more consistent results
Accuracy requires consistency, yet consistency is difficult to maintain when a user’s hands are fatigued or in pain. Pipetting is highly repetitive and the effects of pipetting forces - jamming tips onto shafts, then struggling to eject them – are cumulative, hence the documented relationship between pipetting accuracy and the effects of pipetting forces.
At just 0.6 kg, LTS all but eliminates tip loading/ejecting forces, so users face none of the debilitating issues one experiences when working with standard tips.
