Description

Provides an ultra-hydrophilic platform for critical process filtration.

Evopor™ membrane is a naturally hydrophilic, supported membrane manufactured to provide uniform wet out and maintain its strength during use in critical filtration applications. Unlike polyethersulfone (PES) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes, Evopor membranes are comprised of Ethyl Vinyl Alcohol (EVOH) to provide an unparalleled ultra-hydrophilic surface.

The support is based on Lydall’s Solupor® membrane and delivers high porosity, superior dimensional strength, higher flux, and ease in handling during cutting, pleating, and sealing in filtration device manufacturing. The membrane is available in roll widths up to 60cm as well as custom cut sheets and disks for the required application.

Features:

  • Microporous support
  • Low particulates
  • EVOH composition

Benefits:

  • Higher flux
  • Biocompatible
  • Ultra-hydrophilic surface

Applications:

  • Critical Process Filtration
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Food & Beverage Processing
  • Medical Devices
  • Pharmaceutical Processing

High Efficiency Air Filtration: The Growing Impact of Membranes

Membrane air filtration is an exciting recent development creating new opportunities through higher performing filter designs in the traditional industrial and newer consumer markets. This case study explores the growing importance of membranes in high efficiency air filtration. As such it covers applications as defined by the EN1822 standard and US/MIL STD HEPA and ULPA classifications, as well as the higher efficiency classes of the EN779 and ASHRAE 52.2 (MERV ratings) standards.

Filtration Performance of Permanently Hydrophilized Polyethylene Membranes

Lydall Performance Materials has developed a new generation of hydrophilic Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) membranes (Nylopor™ membranes and Evopor™ membranes) tailored for high purity filtration applications. These membranes show excellent hydrophilicity and durability combined with a low level of extractables, and show no evidence of cell lysis or toxicity. This white paper outlines the testing of these membranes and their possible applications.
