Very satisfying and robust product.
Industrial Production
A very easy‑to‑use and robust product for an industrial environment. Its fast acquisition speed makes it possible to closely monitor any potential changes in materials during production. After two years of near‑continuous analysis, no system drift has been observed. I highly recommend this technology to overcome industrial and/or exploratory limitations.

It a great instrument for everyday use, easy to use and an affordable price.
Analyze solid, liquid, powders, and thin films
It is very easy to use, portable, nice appearance, and is robust to manage. It doesn't require very specialized training. The price is very affordable for small budget centers, allows us to do a lot of things with the 35 mW, 532 nm laser. In contrast, the number of features that are possible to modify, let's say, the measuring range, is small. It is possible to modify the exposition time, the number of accumulations, and the laser power. We bought the microscope with 20X and 50X objectives. It can measure using the microscope or using the fiber/trigger either directly or with the liquid accessory. The fiber fits in a connector to the microscope, but I find the connection is not very robust, as the fiber and trigger are heavy and the insertion is short, so there is pulling force where the trigger connects to the microscope; I am sure this can be improved. The LED illumination for positioning is useful but for dark samples is hard to see. For powders and liquids, we are obtaining nice and reproducible results. For thin films, we are struggling a lot to get a signal, but this is a common issue in other Raman systems. About post-sale service, the representatives in Mexico are fast to answer, although we asked something about an experimental detail that was sent to the manufacturer some days ago and yet no answer. Nevertheless, it is a great instrument, we would like to get the 785 nm version that also fits in the microscope.

Identification and Quantification of Methanol in Contaminated Spirits
This application note discusses the reasons why portable Raman spectroscopy is the ideal choice for a screening tool for the identification and quantification of methanol in contaminated spirits, and describes a real world example of methanol-laced rum.
Quantitative Analysis of Solutions using a High Resolution Portable Raman Spectrometer
This application note describes the use of B&W Tek’s portable i-Raman® Plus and BWIQ® chemometric modeling software to develop a quantitative calibration model to determine the glucose, fructose and sucrose concentrations in a tertiary aqueous mixture.
Quantitative Analysis of APIs in Blending Mixtures and Tablets
This application note demonstrates that Raman spectroscopy with chemometrics can be used to develop a quantitative method to measure the concentration of APIs such as Naltrexone HCl in blending mixtures and final product tablets. The method provides quick predictions of API concentrations in blending mixtures, allowing for use in the on-line monitoring for blending processes. The high sensitivity, high resolution, and stability of the i-Raman Plus instrument conform to the requirements in developing reliable quantitative Raman analysis methods.
Mineral Identification with Portable Raman at The Sterling Hill Mining Museum
The Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, NJ, USA, is recognized as the fluorescing mineral capital of the world. Some minerals found in this mine are found nowhere else on the planet. In this video, the President Bill Kroth and Resident Geologist Earl Verbeek talk about implementing B&W Tek's i-Raman plus portable Raman spectroscopy system to identify and verify the minerals they find at this location.
