Dependable work horse!

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Whole blood analysis for Hemoglobin A1C

The DCA Advantage is an easy to use analyzer. We run our A1C's and Microalbumin's with our DCA's. Results are accurate and precise (very reproducible, comparisons with a moderately complex instrument are always very good). Very user friendly to run tests and to calibrate. If the DCA breaks down they send a replacement ASAP. The only negative on the replacements is that they are refurbished not new.

I do like the DCA Advantage much better than the Afinion.

Average Rating 3.7

Application Area:

Hemoglobin A1C's and Microalbumins

The DCA Advantages are great little table top analyzers for A1C's and Microablbumins. They are easy to use and provide accurate results. The only negative is when they break down which they will they send you a refurbished DCA which is sometimes well used. They can last over a year or a few weeks you just never know. TAT is great.

The DCA Vantage is a very dependable and reliable instrument for performing HgbA1c and Microalbumin/Creatinine, urine testing. QC is very rarely out of range. HgbA1c QC is done for each lot number or shipment. Microalbumin QC is done each day of testing. I would highly recommend this instrument for ease of use.

This machine is a good machine for a doctor’s office. For a waived result machine its results compare within a 0.5 variable with other types of machines that report out hemoglobin A1c.

Application Area:

ENDOCRINE/PEDIATRIC

Easy to use, accurate measurements. True POCT test that offers fast, reliable results. Highly recommend to other hospitals. Cost per test is more expensive than traditional lab methods. Easy to use by non-lab personnel including medical assistants. However, no on-site support from manufacturer.

Webinar

Demystifying HbA1c testing at the point of care and the impacts of COVID-19 on patients with diabetes

Today, many medical providers are hesitant to adopt a point-of-care testing (POCT) model for chronic disease management. During this webinar, our esteemed panel will discuss, in general, the differences between central lab and POCT, before moving the conversation into specifics about the benefits of testing for HbA1c at a point-of-care facility. In addition, our speakers will discuss the stringent quality standards in place for HbA1c POCT and the impact that a simplified user interface of these instruments can have on both the operator and patient experience. What a COVID-19 diagnosis means for a patient with diabetes and what potential health impacts could follow will also be discussed.

Following this webinar, you will be able to:

  • List the key benefits of HbA1c point-of-care testing.
  • Identify the quality measures HbA1c instruments must adhere to throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identify possible long-term health implications of COVID-19 on those living with Diabetes.
