Datura stramonium lectin (DSL) binds to (beta-1,4) linked N-acetylglucosamine oligomers, preferring chitobiose or chitotriose over single N-acetylglucosamine residues. DSL also binds well to N-acetyllactosamine and oligomers containing repeating N-acetyllactosamine sequences. This lectin binds well in the acidic pH range, but its affinity decreases above pH 8.0. The lectin may be used to stain tissue sections. Biotium offers DSL conjugated to biotin and a selection of 6 bright and photostable CF® Dyes.

  • Binds to (beta-1,4) linked N-acetylglucosamine oligomers
