I have used ion exchange for the last 4 years. Using this to measure water analysis and raw materials in the steel industry. It has given repeatable analysis every time. I've used it for my research. Operating is a little bit complicated compared other equipment.

The 883 Basic IC plus completes the family of intelligent Metrohm ion chromatographs. Although it is the smallest family member, it satisfies high demands and offers an excellent price-performance ratio.
The 883 Basic IC plus has all the intelligent functions of the modern Metrohm ion chromatographs. iColumn technology facilitates work with the separation column, the heart of the analyzer, and protects the column from damage during operation. Also integrated in the 883 Basic IC plus are the iPump, the intelligent high-pressure pump, and the iDetector, the intelligent conductivity detector. Both guarantee precise results and eliminate almost all operating errors.
The 883 Basic IC enables chemical suppression. For this, the ion chromatograph is equipped with the drive for the Metrohm Suppressor Module MSM, MSM-HC, and 04 MSM-LC. The MSM Rotor A is included in the scope of delivery, however, the rotors Rotors MSM-HC or MSM-LC can also be used. Because oft their special ruggedness and their resistance to solvents and pressure, Metrohm gives a 10-year warranty on the chemical suppressor. The high detection sensitivity of the 883 Basic IC plus allows analyses to be performed in the µg/L, mg/L and g/L ranges. This excellent sensitivity is based both on the minimal baseline noise of the chromatogram and on the performance of the intelligent conductivity detector. Both with and without suppression the 883 Basic IC plus will satisfy your requirements.
The 883 Basic IC plus is designed for training in universities and schools. For this reason it is supplied with a practical textbook, which provides an introduction to the theoretical and practical aspects of ion chromatography. The 883 Basic IC plus is, however, also excellent for routine applications in water analysis, the food sector or the chemical industry.
