Ziath Launches Sample & Specimen Handling Solutions for Forensics Market

Ziath announces the availability of 2D barcoded storage tubes with 2D codes permanently lasered onto the base of the tubes. Each tube has a unique code allowing the tube to be identified by the scanning of the code using Ziath’s scanners. The new tube line products include the CryzoTraq™ cryogenic vials and TraceTraq™ high density tubes.

CryzoTraq™ Cryogenic Vials
Ziath’s range of CryzoTraq™ cryogenic vials are designed for storage of specimens at temperatures as low as -196°C. The range features outstanding leak resistance with a LDPE compression ring moulded into the screw cap. The tubes are available in 2ml or 5ml volumes with an internally or externally threaded cap.
All CryzoTraq™ tubes have a 2D datamatrix barcode inserted in the base of the tube. The insert is secured in place by the use of ultrasound to weld it into place. During the manufacturing process, the linear barcode is printed onto the side of the tube first, and the 2D code is automatically generated from the linear barcode therefore ensuring the two barcodes will always be the same with no errors.

TraceTraq™ High Density Tubes
Ziath’s range of TraceTraq™ high density tubes are designed to optimise storage of samples at temperatures as low as -196°C. All tubes feature a permanent, laser etched 2D barcode at the base of the tube, which when combined with Ziath’s DataPaq™ scanner and software options, provides a fast & efficient solution for managing and tracking your precious samples.
Each tube has a unique code and coordinates within a rack, which when decoded with the scanner guarantees that every sample is assigned a unique identity and location. Each rack has a linear barcode and human readable code lasered onto the side. For automation orientation recognition there is a matching 2D barcode lasered onto the base of the rack. With a compression ring moulded into the screw cap, TraceTraq™ caps feature outstanding leak resistance. The tubes are available in 0.75ml or 1.4ml volumes.
Both of these tubes can be read using Ziath’s easy-to-use scanners; including the DataPaq Express that can read an entire rack of tubes in only a couple of seconds and the DataPaq Multirack which is useful for high volume scanning.

In addition; Ziath also offers a simple sample management system, to replace those annoying excel sheets of data. Known as Samples; it allows for Sample management to be simplified without needing extensive training.
