Waters Corporation is introducing its MassTrak™ AAA Solution for the analysis of physiological amino acids in urine and plasma for clinical research use at PITTCON® 2008, March 2-6, the industry’s largest annual exhibition.

The MassTrak AAA Solution is a total solution optimized for the reliable and reproducible analysis of physiological amino acids using UltraPerformance Liquid Chromatography.

The Waters® MassTrak Amino Acid Analysis (AAA) Solution is the first UltraPerformance LC® (UPLC) system with ultraviolet/visible detection to combine Waters ACQUITY® UPLC® technology with Waters patented AccQTag™ derivatization chemistry for performing physiological amino acid analysis on urine and plasma samples in a research setting. The system is pre-configured with the required instrumentation, methods, chemistries, mobile phases, standards and consumables and is capable of separating as many as 42 physiological amino acids in less than 35 minutes.

The introduction of the MassTrak AAA Solution demonstrates Waters continued commitment to solve a variety of challenges in the clinical research laboratory.

Waters is exhibiting its new Ultra-Performance physiological amino acid analysis system for research use in PITTCON booth # 2639.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.
