SelectScience® is delighted to announce an exciting new webinar as part of the CLINICAL24 conversation. The event, titled 'Transforming M-protein diagnostics with mass spectrometry using the EXENT® System' is to be held on Dec 3rd 2024. This free-to-attend webinar will focus on the EXENT® solution from The Binding Site, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, which addresses an unmet clinical need through an innovative clinical mass spectrometry solution.

About the webinar

Join Dr. Katie Horton, medical science liaison specialist – EXENT and Dr. Mark Perkins, senior manager, portfolio lifecycle – EXENT, The Binding Site, as they discuss the development and performance of the EXENT® System, a clinical mass spectrometry solution for monoclonal gammopathy assessment.

The EXENT System is an automated solution that enables M-protein identification and measurement in serum with enhanced sensitivity beyond conventional methods.

The system combines the EXENT Analyzer with the EXENT GAM Assay to provide a fully automated solution to isotype, quantify and track monoclonal proteins throughout the patient journey.

Clinical ChemistryBiochemistry (or clinical chemistry) involves the analysis of bodily fluids using chemical tests. Techniques used include HPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunochemical, electrophoresis, turbidometric / spectrophotometric assay, MRI and ISE analysis. Tests are often carried out on plasma or serum but urine (urinalysis) and fecal specimens are also processed.Mass SpectrometryMass spectrometry (MS) is a powerful analytical technique used to identify and quantify molecules based on the mass-to-charge ratio of gas-phase ions. It provides detailed information about the structure, composition, and properties of compounds and is widely used across fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, drug discovery and development, food and beverage testing, and wider chemical research. Key MS techniques include tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LS-MS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS). Choosing from these wide range of techniques and technologies can be a daunting task, so keep up to date with scientific applications, performance expectations, and customer reviews here all in one place.
