Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces PPD CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry to advance real-world evidence in nonsegmental vitiligo

Real-world evidence registry for nonsegmental vitiligo to track long-term treatment outcomes and patient experiences

17 Aug 2026

Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched the PPD™ CorEvitas™ Vitiligo Registry, a prospective, observational clinical registry designed to generate longitudinal real-world evidence in adolescents and adults living with nonsegmental vitiligo (NSV) across the United States.

The registry will evaluate the long-term effectiveness of approved vitiligo treatments and provide insights into disease burden, natural history, treatment utilization, comorbidities, patient outcomes and unmet needs.

Addressing evidence gaps in nonsegmental vitiligo

Vitiligo is a chronic, immune-mediated skin disorder characterized by the loss of melanocytes, resulting in depigmented patches of skin. Treatment options for NSV continue to expand, including topical therapies, phototherapy, systemic corticosteroids and Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. However, important evidence gaps remain regarding long-term treatment effectiveness, durability of response, optimal treatment sequencing, comorbidities and patient-focused outcomes.

The CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry is designed to address these gaps by prospectively collecting longitudinal real-world data from patients with dermatologist-confirmed NSV. By capturing information from routine clinical practice, the registry aims to build a robust evidence base on how therapies perform over time in diverse patient populations.

Real-world data to support patients, clinicians and researchers

The registry will evaluate the long-term effectiveness and utilization of approved NSV treatments while generating insights into disease burden, natural history and patient experiences. Data collected will include treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, comorbidities and patient-reported outcomes, helping to clarify unmet needs and inform future research.

“By capturing both clinician-reported and patient-reported outcomes over time, the registry will help advance understanding of nonsegmental vitiligo in routine clinical practice and support evidence generation for patients, providers, researchers and industry stakeholders,” said Dr. Peter Wahl, vice president and global head of scientific affairs for CorEvitas Clinical Registries.

“This registry will also enable the patient voice to be captured to better understand how NSV and newly approved therapies impact day-to-day life, including physical well-being and social aspects of the disease.”

Who can enroll in the CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry?

The CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry enrolls adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older with dermatologist-confirmed NSV. Participants are followed longitudinally in routine care settings to evaluate disease progression, treatment patterns and clinical outcomes over time.

As part of the broader CorEvitas Clinical Registries autoimmune and dermatology portfolio, the vitiligo registry is intended to provide a comprehensive platform for understanding how therapies perform in real-world practice and to support ongoing research and clinical decision-making.

Who can enroll in the CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry?

The registry enrolls adolescents and adults aged 12 years and older with dermatologist-confirmed NSV across the United States. Participants are followed longitudinally in routine care settings to assess disease progression, treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, comorbidities and patient-reported outcomes over time, supporting clinicians, researchers, regulators and life sciences organizations.

How does the CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry address evidence gaps in nonsegmental vitiligo treatment?

The registry addresses evidence gaps in NSV by systematically collecting longitudinal real-world data from routine clinical practice. It focuses on long-term treatment effectiveness, durability of response, optimal treatment sequencing, comorbidities, disease burden and patient-focused outcomes. By capturing both clinician-reported and patient-reported data, it supports future research, clinical decision-making and improved quality of life for people with NSV.
