Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has introduced its comprehensive range of Thermo Scientific HyperSep Dispersive SPE products, which contain sorbents for optimal extraction, clean-up and separation of analytes from complex matrices using the QuEChERS method.

Developed to overcome the issues associated with multi-residue methods (MRM), the QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, Safe) method minimizes reagent consumption and eliminates the requirement for any automation or labor intensive processes. Therefore, this method has been readily accepted by pesticide and residue analysts and is rapidly emerging as the method of choice in food safety laboratories.

The HyperSep™ Dispersive SPE products are available in a range of sorbent material combinations, each used to remove different interferences from the starting sample. As a result, researchers are able to determine a wide range of pesticide compound types (polar, pH dependent), while obtaining high recovery levels and accurate results. Furthermore, extraction in acetonitrile makes the QuEChERS method suitable for both GC and LC procedures. HyperSep Dispersive SPE products are supplied pre-prepared to save valuable research time and reduce any variability in resulting data.

Gas ChromatographyGas chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used to separate and quantitate mixtures of small and volatile compounds. Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors. Multiple formats are available for conducting SPE, including prepacked SPE cartridges, disks and microplates, as well as SPE sorbent powders for manual packing. SPE systems can be used to automate the process and extract multiple samples at once. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and supported liquid extraction (SLE) products are also available in the same formats.
