Roche launches Liver Disease Panel, the first certified algorithm suite for chronic liver disease management
New digital and biomarker-integrated solution supports early detection, risk assessment, and disease monitoring

Roche has launched the Liver Disease Panel, a comprehensive suite of certified healthcare algorithms designed to support clinicians in the identification and management of chronic liver disease (CLD).
Developed to integrate biomarker-based diagnostics with advanced digital tools, including the CE-marked LiverPRO™ algorithm, the Liver Disease Panel helps healthcare professionals detect liver fibrosis risk earlier and improve surveillance for liver cancer along the entire patient care pathway.
From detection to care: Optimizing the liver care pathway
By leveraging advanced biomarkers such as Elecsys® PRO-C3 within powerful digital tools like ADAPT and LiverPRO, the Liver Disease Panel offers a scalable approach to assessing fibrosis severity. By reducing reliance on invasive tests, the panel enables clinicians to make more confident, evidence-based decisions using routinely available clinical data, enabling a more proactive, preventive model of liver care.
The Liver Disease Panel covers conditions along the liver disease spectrum, including metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
This library brings together clinically validated algorithms into a single, secure platform. It combines tools such as:
- LiverPRO for assessing the likelihood of having liver fibrosis
- ADAPT with Roche’s Elecsys PRO-C3 for assessing the severity of liver fibrosis
- GAAD with Roche’s Elecsys AFP and Elecsys PIVKA II for aiding in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
These are integrated alongside widely used clinical tools, including the FIB-4 Index, MELD Scores, ALBI Score, Child-Pugh Score and the Lille Model. Each solution is certified and automated within clinical workflows, ensuring that patient data is handled according to the highest standards required for a medical device.
The Liver Disease Panel is available on the navify® Algorithm Suite and represents a significant step in Roche’s strategy to deliver digital health solutions for the growing global burden of chronic liver disease. The panel integrates seamlessly with existing hospital systems, giving clinicians a single point of access to order and view algorithm results.
Investing in digital diagnostics to advance liver disease care
Roche is investing in digital innovation to advance the standard of care in liver disease. Through a collaboration with the health tech company Evido, the Liver Disease Panel includes LiverPRO, an innovative, CE-marked algorithm that adapts to existing patient data. LiverPRO requires only age and a minimum of three out of nine common blood-based biomarkers to assess the risk of liver fibrosis.
By using accessible routine laboratory results, LiverPRO supports earlier intervention, helping clinicians act sooner and improve disease management before patients reach advanced stages.
LiverPRO has been endorsed in the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Patient Trajectory Guidance as an alternative and scalable first-line test for liver fibrosis, confirming its role in standardizing patient referrals and accelerating the identification of high-risk cases using non-invasive technology.
“Chronic liver disease impacts millions of lives around the world, and patients need effective care at every stage of their journey,” said Matt Sause, CEO Roche Diagnostics. “With the Liver Disease Panel, we are enabling clinicians to identify risk earlier, intervene sooner, and manage this disease more effectively, helping to improve liver care and support better patient health.”
