Product news

Millipore Corporation today announced the availability of its R&D poster podcasts. Featuring Millipore’s industry experts, the weekly broadcasts help customers improve productivity on the lab bench and manufacturing floor. The podcasts include reviews of various technical posters as well as tutorials on the broad field of membrane technology.

Available via iTunes and RSS feeds, the technical sessions provide listeners the opportunity to download and listen to the latest development in filtration, separation and lateral flow technology at their convenience. For those unable to attend the industry’s top laboratory research, therapeutic production and diagnostic conferences, podcasts are an alternative source of information that can drive protocols and research. In addition, Millipore’s scientists and engineers continuously can communicate the newest industry trends.

Sample Millipore R&D poster podcasts available to listeners:

  • “Comparison of Protein Precipitation to Solid Phase Extraction for the Preparation of Serum Samples Prior to LC-MS/MS,” by Vivek Joshi, R&D group leader for Millipore’s Bioscience Division
  • “Point-of-Use Technologies for the Production of Ultrapure Water Adapted to Specific Laboratory Applications,” discussed by Stéphane Mabic, worldwide applications support manager in Millipore’s Bioscience Division
  • “Membrane 101” tutorials as well as “Lateral Flow Test Strips” discussions, hosted by Mike Mansfield, applications manager for Millipore’s OEM Membrane and Media group
  • “Tracking organic contaminants throughout a water purification system,” presented by Cecilia Regnault, LC-MS Support Scientist for Millipore’s Bioscience Division

Coming soon to listeners:

  • “Kinase and Inhibitor Selectivity Screening Using KinaseProfiler™”
  • “The Development of Cardiac Ion Channel Screening Assays for Safety Profiling of Compounds Early in the Drug Discovery Process”
  • "Rapid, Ultrafiltration-based Method for Purification of Monoclonal Antibodies from Hybridoma Supernatants"
  • "Improving Reliability of Filter-Based Luminex xMAP multiplex Assays through Filter Plate and Membrane Material"

Updated every Tuesday, Millipore’s R&D poster podcasts are accessible by searching for “Millipore” in the iTunes Podcast Directory, or selecting the RSS Feeds link from Millipore’s homepage. For additional information on future podcasts, please visit the article webpage.

LC-MSLC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry) systems and equipment are used for separation and quantitative analysis of complex mixtures, combining liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Quantify proteins, contaminants, pesticides or screen for drug metabolites with a high level of sensitivity. LC-MS systems and equipment include reverse phase, normal phase and specialized columns integrated with various MS detectors such as time-of-flight (TOF), quadrupole, orbitrap or ion trap mass analyzers. LC-MS/MS instruments equipped with a qTOF or triple quadrupole analyzer give greater sensitivity and resolving power to your analysis. Use HTS readers and integrated assay preparation / analysis workstations to screen your compounds. Identify active compounds against various HTS libraries, including membranes, proteins and peptides and HTS cell lines. Find the best high-throughput screening products in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.FiltrationFiltration and microfiltration are used to separate solids, particulates or large molecules from fluids (liquid or gases) in order to purify the filtrate. Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
