Low Dead Volume Reservoir Saves on Reagent Costs

4 Jul 2012

INTEGRA has introduced a new 10mL disposable multichannel reagent reservoir whose low dead volume (650µL) generates significant savings on reagent usage. One side of the 10mL reagent reservoir is molded into a pour back spout to help control liquid flow allowing users to neatly and easily return excess fluid to a source container.

INTEGRA multichannel reagent reservoirs, now available in 10mL, 25mL, and 100mL, are cleverly designed to nest within one another without sticking. INTEGRA reagent reservoirs come in compact, space-saving packages. Packaging options include portable, standalone sleeves (ideal for lab benches or hoods) and individually sealed bags for sterile applications. INTEGRA reagent reservoirs are both economically and environmentally friendly because users can reuse the reservoir base and dispose of the reservoir inserts.

The unique transparent polystyrene design allows the crisp graduations on the inside of the reservoir base to be clearly seen enabling accurate fluid measurement and reduced reagent waste. For maximum fluid recovery, INTEGRA reagent reservoirs feature a full-length, extra deep trough that is more easily accessible for pipette tips.

INTEGRA also offers SBS footprint 100mL and 300mL reagent reservoirs. 96 individual pyramidal indentations allow for maximum liquid recovery when using the VIAFLO 96 – 96 channel electronic pipettor or other instruments. INTEGRA’s SBS footprint reservoirs are also economically and environmentally friendly because users can reuse the reservoir base and dispose of the reservoir inserts.

Disposable Reagent Reservoirs

INTEGRA Biosciences

INTEGRA reagent reservoirs offer a convenient solution for the temporary storage of non-solvent based liquids during any pipetting application. The system consists of disposable inserts that fit into reusable bases with clearly visible volume markings. Inserts are available as crystal clear polystyrene reservoirs or polypropylene reservoirs for improved chemical compatibility. The pour-back spouts in the corners of the reservoir allow pouring back the liquid into the original container without spills. The reagent reservoirs in sizes 10, 25 or 100 ml are stackable for space saving storage.  The polystyrene inserts are also available with the unique SureFlo™ anti-sealing array to help minimize dead volumes. Features and benefits: Light is refracted so that graduations below the liquid surface become invisible, making it easier to identify the exact desired volume line. Pour-back spouts molded into the corners of each reagent reservoir control liquid flow and enable the easy, spill-free return of reagent to its original container. Base accommodates two reservoirs, one acting as a lid.

VIAFLO 96 – Electronic 24 and 96 Channel Handheld Pipette

INTEGRA Biosciences

VIAFLO 96 increases productivity of sample preparation in microplates. It is used like a standard handheld pipette. It is hand-controlled but movements are supported by motors for an effortless workflow and precise targeting of the microplate wells. The working volume range of VIAFLO 96 can be quickly adapted to the application’s requirements by changing the pipetting heads. The 24 channel heads are available in the volume ranges 10-300 µl and 50-1250 µl and the 96 channel heads in the volume ranges 0.5-12.5 µl, 2-50µl, 5–125 µl, 10–300 µl and 50–1250 µl. VIAFLO 96 benefits from the innovative GripTip system. The special pipette tips, together with the unique tip fitting, form an integral system. It guarantees tips will not fall off during pipetting and provides a reliable sealing of every tip. VIAFLO 96 can be used for sample transfers from reservoir to plate, plate to plate or within plates. Features and Benefits:  • VIAFLO 96 is used like a handheld pipette and has an intuitive user interface, freeing staff from training time. • Pipetting heads can be changed for an optimal instrument adaption to different volume ranges, increasing accuracy and precision. • The innovative GripTip system provides a reliable sealing of every tip and guarantees that tips will never fall off, providing safe and reproducible assay preparation. • Various pipetting modes are available for increased productivity and application customization.
