InHealth brings Europe’s first mobile Biograph Trinion PET/CT System into clinical service

Independent diagnostics provider InHealth has completed the first patient scan using Europe’s first mobile Biograph Trinion PET/CT system from Siemens Healthineers, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of advanced molecular imaging services.

Currently operating from Wrexham Maelor Hospital in North East Wales, the mobile unit combines next-generation PET/CT technology with the flexibility of a relocatable service, helping expand access to advanced cancer diagnostics while supporting growing demand for PET/CT imaging across the UK.

PET/CT plays a vital role in modern cancer care, supporting diagnosis, staging, treatment planning and monitoring across a wide range of tumor types. Deploying the Biograph Trinion in a mobile environment represents an important step in the evolution of PET/CT services, combining next-generation molecular imaging technology with a relocatable service model to help healthcare providers expand access to specialist diagnostics and bring care closer to patients across a wider geographic area.

Designed to deliver high-performance imaging alongside efficient clinical workflows, the Biograph Trinion PET/CT system incorporates FlowMotion technology, enabling continuous bed motion during image acquisition and helping maintain consistent image quality across a wide range of examinations.

It also features myExam Companion, an AI-enabled workflow assistant that helps standardise scan preparation and acquisition, supporting greater consistency between operators while simplifying routine processes.

These features support high patient throughput and streamlined workflows, helping providers meet increasing demand for PET/CT services while maintaining the high diagnostic standards required for complex oncology imaging.

The introduction of the service reflects the ongoing collaboration between InHealth and Siemens Healthineers to develop innovative imaging solutions that help healthcare providers expand capacity while broadening access to the latest diagnostic technologies across cancer pathways.
