Product news

Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS) provides a quick and easy assessment of your laboratory analytical performance. With over 7,500 participants, and an extensive range of programmes available, RIQAS guarantees confidence in your results.

RIQAS, ISO 13485 and UKAS accredited, is the largest global EQA scheme, designed to maintain and improve the quality of clinical testing. The establishment of inter laboratory agreement ensures complete confidence in results for both the clinician and patient.

Participants are provided with bi-weekly or monthly reports which allow statistical comparison of analytical performance with other laboratories using the same methods and/or instruments. Reports can be sent by fax, e-mail or via the internet using e-transfer improving turnaround time to only three days. Graphical outputs including histograms, Levey-Jennings charts as well as unique Target Scoring charts are easy to understand and quickly identify unsatisfactory performance. An independent Advisory Panel and RIQAS support staff are on hand for additional support.

RIQAS currently provides nine programmes covering clinical chemistry, therapeutic drugs, specific proteins, human urine, immunoassay, haematology, lipid, cardiac and Hb1Ac. A total of six new programmes are due to start in January; Coagulation, Urinalysis, Liquid Cardiac, Blood Gas, Maternal Screening and Urine Toxicology.

Invest in this internationally recognised scheme now to improve the analytical quality of your laboratory and thus facilitate optimal patient care.

HematologyIn Haematology / Hematology, complete blood cell counts (or full blood counts) are obtained using automated blood count analyzers to enumerate blood cell types.  Hematology also encompasses haemostasis and coagulation, thrombophilia and hemophilia, plasma viscosity and ESR analysis, hemoglobinopathies, cell morphology and haematinic measurement.ImmunologyImmunological techniques measure and characterize immune responses. Immunology kits and analysis systems often use techniques such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and immunodiffusion assays, Immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Immunologists use equipment such as flow Cytometers, plate readers, plate washers and fluorescent microscopes.Clinical TrialsClinical Trials, an essential part of drug discovery process, assess the safety and effectiveness of a new medication or device in the pharmaceutical industry. Clinical Trials are a phased process (Phase 0, Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV) which begins after initial preclinical testing.Clinical GeneticsMolecular Genetics covers the analysis of hereditary genetic disease and chromosomal abnormalities. Genetics can be analysed using DNA, RNA, and protein microarrays, PCR, RT PCR and DNA sequencing. Genetic equipment includes genetic workstations, thermal cyclers, cooling blocks and electrophoresis products. Diagnostic kits are used for DNA / RNA extraction and purification.
