Product news

Genetix Group plc, the cancer diagnostic and biotherapeutic technologies group, announces the introduction of CytoGenetix reagents for fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH).

CytoGenetix reagents are designed for integration with the Applied Imaging CytoVision workstation, Genetix’ highly-regarded fully comprehensive, custom cytogenetic imaging and analysis system. Manufactured to exceptional standards of quality, precision and tolerance, CytoGenetix reagents are also highly effective and well-suited for use in any cytogenetic system.

Developed to provide bright, clear results, CytoGenetix reagents are available in two concentrations, premixed and concentrated. Premixed kits are ready to use and provide convenience for standard applications. Concentrated kits allow up to three paints to be used in combination with no loss of specificity or to perform ratio labelling.

CytoGenetix probes are highly specific, have an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and improved staining homogeneity. Competitor free labelling helps control reagent costs and reduces the chance that excessive amounts of competitor DNA will reduce signal strength due to non-specific binding.
CytoGenetix probes offer a versatile method of analyzing metaphase chromosomes. The probes are available with three different labels, Cy3, FITC and Biotin. Cy3 and FITC provide bright, intense signals, low non-specific binding, high photo stability, high water solubility, and pH insensitivity. Biotin labeled probes allow the use of any streptavidin coupled fluorochromes.

Genome AnalysisGenomics, the study of genomes, includes functional genomics, evolutionary genomics and comparative genomics. There are many genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing of whole genomes, computational biology and bioinformatics. DNA and nucleic acids must be isolated and concentrated from cells for analysis with kits, automated analyzers and software. Other useful technologies for studying genomics include PCR, microarrays and electrophoresis.Gel Doc / Image AnalysisGel documentation (gel doc) or gel imaging systems are used for the analysis of proteins, antibodies and nucleic acid immobilized in polyacrylamide or agarose gels, membranes or microarrays. Explore a range of a gel imaging systems, densitometers, scanners, transilluminators or UV lamp + CCD cameras for your image analysis solutions. Colorimetric, fluorescent and/or radioisotopic samples can be visualized and documented for further analysis. The use of biomarkers in research and diagnosis can indicate a normal or disease state or drug response of cells / tissues. Biomarkers include genetic markers, cell surface markers such as antigens, antibodies or receptors and secreted molecules such as cytokines. An assay system is required for identification of biomarkers. :
