The REMP Small-Size Store™ (SSS) is a fully automated sample storage and retrieval system that fits perfectly into any sized laboratory, providing rapid access to single tubes or microplates while preserving the sample quality and integrity. The SSS can be used as a stand-alone system or easily integrated into any robotic set-up, such as the Tecan Freedom EVO® liquid handling workstation.

The SSS is fully compatible with the innovative REMP Tube Technology™ consumables for 96- or 384-well format applications. Cherry-picking of requested samples from the Tube Storage Racks occurs within the store’s protected environment, minimizing repeated freeze-thaw cycles and providing highly reliable sample selection in a single movement.

The intuitive Sample Administration System software is now fully integrated with the SSS, making it easy to manage the library database, select samples for treatment and track the full history of each individual sample. The Small-Size Stores can be linked together with up to two extension units to accommodate growing libraries, maintaining complete sample handling within the store’s protected environment (at -20 or +4°C). The REMP SSS Plate Store (SSS-P) is also available for storage of microplates only and this can be easily upgraded on site to include tubes if required.

Lab-on-a-ChipLab-on-a-chip (LOC) technology uses microfluidic chips, such as microarrays, to perform biochemical assays on a small scale. Benefits of lab-on-a-chip include the small volume of sample required as well as the speed of analysis. In selecting lab-on-a-chip devices consider the assay, cost, reliability, sensitivity and signal to noise ratio.Microplate Readers / DetectorsMicroplate readers are used to automate the detection and analysis of labeled or label-free components in microplates during assays or live-cell monitoring. Microplate readers are generally distinguished by their mode of detection. Types include absorbance, luminescence, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, TRF / FRET and multimode microplate readers. Microplate readers deliver a high throughput of samples by reading multiple wells simultaneously, with the 96-well format the most commonly used. As a result, microplate readers are often used in the drug discovery, bioassays, research and pharmaceutical industries for screening applications. Microplate loading can also be automated, with robotic microplate stackers to increase throughput. Find the best microplate readers in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Sample ManagementSample management systems include sample storage devices such as freezers and plate storers, sample environment enclosures and sample organization, retrieval and sorter systems. Useful system features include high-throughput, automation, robotic arms, automated liquid handling and associated database systems. Accessories in sample management include barcode scanners, heat sealers and tubes.
