Countable Labs launches revolutionary ten-color PCR instrument
Bridging the gap between PCR and next-generation sequencing technologies, the Countable 10 is the first PCR instrument to analyze 10 distinct fluorophores in the same reaction

Countable Labs has launched its Countable 10, a PCR instrument capable of 10-color multiplexing. The new system will extend the utility of the company’s core Countable PCR technology to enable higher level multiplexing that easily and cleanly reveals more insights in a single reaction.
Countable PCR is a highly scalable PCR technology leveraging single molecule isolation across 30 million compartments per experiment to achieve true single-molecule quantitation from a simple PCR workflow. The technology offers the highest sensitivity available from PCR, at least 10 times the sensitivity and precision of other PCR technologies, facilitating the identification of rare events as low as 0.004% variant allele frequency (VAF), even with small sample inputs.
Countable PCR’s out-of-the-box multiplexing approach with its Universal Multiplexing Kit also accelerates research, biopharma screening, and testing applications by dramatically reducing assay development time.
The Countable 10 system builds on this core technology by detecting 10 distinct fluorophores, without the uncertainty of spectral overlap common in other multiplex PCR approaches. With an automated data readout for 10 colors via a PCR workflow, Countable 10 overcomes the cost, turnaround time, and technical challenges faced by those using next-generation sequencing, eliminating the need for specialized bioinformatics.
The four-color Countable PCR system is now shipping, and the 10-color Countable 10 will ship in the first half of 2026. Countable Labs is offering customers access to generate data on Countable 10 through its assay services offerings.
“The genomics community needs tools that make examining multiple biomarkers accessible and cost effective for everyday molecular applications,” said Eleen Shum, Vice President of Product and Founding Scientist at Countable Labs. “Countable 10 is highly sensitive, affordable, and fast, so that labs can study more markers per reaction with ease.”
