Product news

Today, at the 17th international conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) and 8th European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB) in Stockholm, Sweden, CLC bio has revealed their first turnkey biocomputing solution for analyzing and visualizing Next Generation Sequencing data, called CLC Genomics Machine.

“I’m confident the unparalleled price/performance of this turnkey solution will not disappoint those looking for an all-inclusive, user-friendly, and powerful solution for their Next Generation Sequencing analysis pipeline - and we look forward to demonstrating just that during the ISMB conference in Stockholm this week” says Lasse Görlitz, Head of Global PR & Marketing at CLC bio.

CLC Genomics Machine will be demonstrated by CLC bio product specialists at booth number 2 at Stockholmsmässan during the ISMB conference in Stockholm.

CLC Genomics Machine consists of a hardware platform, a multitude of pre-installed software tools, including various accelerated algorithms for Next Generation Sequencing data analysis, and an enterprise level database - all functioning straight out of the box. The de novo assembler included with CLC Genomics Machine is able to assemble very large genomes - ie. human or plants. This new version of the de novo assembler is scheduled for release in this autumn and will be included with all CLC Genomics Machines bought before.

Genome AnalysisGenomics, the study of genomes, includes functional genomics, evolutionary genomics and comparative genomics. There are many genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing of whole genomes, computational biology and bioinformatics. DNA and nucleic acids must be isolated and concentrated from cells for analysis with kits, automated analyzers and software. Other useful technologies for studying genomics include PCR, microarrays and electrophoresis.DNA SequencingDNA sequencing, such as sanger sequencing, is a biological technique that determines the precise order of nucleotide bases in a fragment or template of DNA. DNA sequencers and genetic analyzers are based on capillary electrophoresis, where labeled DNA fragments are electrophoretically separated by size as they migrate through a polymer.
