Product news

CAMAG recently announced the worldwide availability of a new version of its visionCATS HPTLC software (V1.4). With visionCATS, CAMAG have developed a state-of-the-art software for qualitative HPTLC analysis that supports chromatographers who use HPTLC for quality control, identification, and detection of adulteration, as well as stability studies in various fields of application.

Other than giving visionCATS a new Look and Feel, CAMAG have implemented several useful tools, i.e. a clipboard function or annotations integration into reports, that make every HPTLC analysts life easier.

The latest release integrates the CAMAG Method Library, where users can download validated methods showing examples incl. reference standards and execute analyses accordingly, which makes HPTLC the ideal tool for quality control, particularly for identification. While saving costs and achieving reproducible results through the use of standardized procedures the CAMAG Method Library makes own method development redundant.

Enhancements
Major enhancements include a new file explorer with extensive filtering functionalities and an all new preview mode that makes entire analyses, methods and comparisons visible at a glance. The Comparison Viewer, a key part of visionCATS now comes up with an integrated clean plate correction and a built-in zoom functionality that considerably enhances usability.

Single or Multi-User Network
The visionCATS software can either be run on a single workstation or in a multi-user lab network. For the moment the software is geared to qualitative work including all aspects of qualitative HPTLC be it for cGMP compliant routine work or flexible scientific research.

Thin Layer ChromatographyThin-layer chromatography (TLC), also called planar chromatography, is an inexpensive and simple liquid chromatographic technique used to separate and identify small amounts of compound in a mixture, monitor progress of a reaction or determine purity of substance. TLC plates come in multiple sizes with common adsorbent layers being silica, aluminum oxide or cellulose and high-performance (HP-TLC) plates are also available for increased sensitivity. Other equipment needed includes TLC developing chambers, applicators, TLC sprayers and visualizing devices, such as a viewing cabinet and UV lamp. It is widely used in fields like biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and environmental analysis. By exploiting differences in the interaction of substances with a stationary phase and a mobile phase, chromatography enables precise purification and quantification of compounds. Whether you're working with complex biological samples or industrial chemicals, chromatography is essential for obtaining high-quality results.
