Product news

At the recent IFCC-EFLM European Congress 2013, Beckman Coulter demonstrated a range of products designed to advance and optimize the routine laboratory. Through a series of workshops, poster presentation and their extensive booth exhibit, the company proved their commitment to moving the clinical diagnostic laboratory forwards.

New solutions at the booth:

Power Express – a new automation system featuring a dynamic inlet, high-speed refrigerated stockyard and connection to the AU5800 chemistry analyzer, UniCel Dxl 800 immunoassay analyzer or other third-party analyzers.

Power Link – combining an AU680 chemistry analyzer with a Dxl immunoassay analyzer to form an entry-level automated workcell, the Power Link delivers high-capacity specimen processing, power and flexibility to meet clinical laboratory workload challenges.

AU5800 Series of Clinical Chemistry Systems – designed for high-volume core hospital labs to ultra-high-volume commercial reference laboratories, the AU5800 has true random access capabilities and throughputs ranging from 2,000 tests per hour to up to 9,800 tests per hour.

UniCel DxH 600 – the new bench-top hematology analyzer provides laboratories with exceptional quality results, improved first-pass accuracy and automatic rerun and reflex testing; reducing overall manual review rates and processes.

This is just a selection of the products that were on display at the Beckman Coulter booth. For further details please click on the ‘request information’ tab below or click here.

HematologyIn Haematology / Hematology, complete blood cell counts (or full blood counts) are obtained using automated blood count analyzers to enumerate blood cell types.  Hematology also encompasses haemostasis and coagulation, thrombophilia and hemophilia, plasma viscosity and ESR analysis, hemoglobinopathies, cell morphology and haematinic measurement.ImmunologyImmunological techniques measure and characterize immune responses. Immunology kits and analysis systems often use techniques such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and immunodiffusion assays, Immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Immunologists use equipment such as flow Cytometers, plate readers, plate washers and fluorescent microscopes.Clinical ChemistryBiochemistry (or clinical chemistry) involves the analysis of bodily fluids using chemical tests. Techniques used include HPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunochemical, electrophoresis, turbidometric / spectrophotometric assay, MRI and ISE analysis. Tests are often carried out on plasma or serum but urine (urinalysis) and fecal specimens are also processed.Hematology SolutionsHematology solutions involve diagnostic tests and equipment used to analyze blood samples and diagnose blood disorders such as anemia, leukemia, and hemophilia. These tools include automated full blood count analyzers, reagents, and digital morphology systems.
