This proprietary mixture not only ensures the stability of XGal and IPTG but gives clean round colonies for easy screening. No more measuring, mixing or using loops for application; just spray 3 times on the agar plate. Each spray delivers precise and optimal volumes of XGal-IPTG mixture maintaining consistency between plates. Each spray bottle has 20ml of XGal-IPTG mixture sufficient for 100 standard size plates. Protocol for Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray X-Gal-IPTG spray is a ready to use solution that can be directly sprayed on agar plates containing appropriate antibiotics. Spray solution in provided a brown bottle and it is enough for approximately 100 plates (100 mm size). Keep a distance of about few inches (between spray bottle and plates) while spraying solution on agar plates. Spray the solution 3-4 times (~200 μl) on each agar plate, which is equivalent to about 1.3 mg of each of X-Gal and IPTG per plate.
