Stearates Verification Using a Handheld Raman Analyzer
10 Jun 2018Magnesium stearate, calcium stearate, and zinc stearate are frequently used in the pharmaceutical industry as lubricants for capsules and tablets, but share a similar chemical structure which makes them challenging to verify. In this application note, various stearates were successfully identified by utilizing a customizable principle component analysis (PCA) method on the Thermo ScientificTM TruScanTM RM Handheld Raman Analyzer.
