Sample Preparation with the Oven Technique - Relative Blank

21 May 2013

This application note describes water content determinations in oil using direct injection and oven technique. Results illustrate the influence and the importance of the relative blank.

851 Titrando Coulometer

Metrohm AG

The coulometric Karl Fischer Titration is the method of choice for low level water determinations (10 μg … 10 mg absolute water content) in liquid, solid and gaseous samples. As it is an absolute method a titer determination is not necessary. With the 851 Titrando coulometric titrations are carried out straightforwardly and quickly.

TitrationTitration is an analytical technique for determining substance concentration in a solution. For titration consider a manual or automated system, volumetric or coulometric reagent addition and indication by a potentiometer, spectrometer, turbidometer or by the Karl Fischer method. Other features of titration to consider include burettes, reagents, concentration range, reaction time and autosamplers.Water Content AnalysisWater content analysis is crucial for determining the moisture levels in food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and other materials.
