In-Situ Tensile Experiments on Metal Samples

The ZEISS FE-SEM families (ZEISS GeminiSEM & ZEISS Sigma) with their in-column beam deceleration, deliver magnetic field free imaging with high resolution, a large distortion-free field of view, and an efficient Inlens SE detection. These features are especially beneficial when working with large in situ experimental setups. In this application note, ZEISS FE-SEMs are combined with a Kammrath & Weiss tensile module to demonstrate in-situ mechanical testing at room temperature, as well as during heating.
