Simplify volatiles analysis (Part 4): Chromatographically challenging analyses

Direct mass spectrometry (DMS) facilitates faster method development and validation, plus provides high throughput for routine analysis. But the adoption of selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) has additional benefit – simplification of analyses that are overly complicated using chromatographic methods.

This webinar will describe how analysis of important chromatographically challenging volatiles, such as formaldehyde, volatile fatty acids, organosulfur compounds (and hydrogen sulfide) and amines (and ammonia) is greatly simplified. Straightforward analysis without requiring derivatization, drying steps, or selection of special columns, detectors and/or analysis conditions is a direct result of the ultra-soft chemical ionization used in SIFT-MS.

This final webinar (of a series of four) on routine SIFT-MS analysis focuses particularly on formaldehyde, which is important across a wide range of industries (from environmental to pharmaceutical testing). One case study illustrates validation of an unconventional analytical method for regulatory submission.
