
Introducing SPEAR epTau 217 and eMTBR-Tau: Dissecting Alzheimer’s pathologies from early Tau phosphorylation to Tau tangles

This webinar will introduce two novel blood-based biomarker assays for Alzheimer's disease (AD): SPEAR epTau 217 and SPEAR eMTBR-Tau.
SPEAR epTau 217 detects a unique subset of pTau 217 that may represent an early and distinct AD-associated Tau species. We will present data demonstrating that SPEAR epTau 217 provides highly consistent measurements between paired venous and Tasso capillary blood samples, outperforming other Tau biomarkers, including total pTau 217, BD-Tau, and BD-pTau 217.
SPEAR eMTBR-Tau measures a plasma biomarker associated with neurofibrillary tangle pathology in late-stage AD. We will share data showing that plasma eMTBR-Tau increases markedly with advanced disease, correlating with neuropathological severity and Tau-PET burden, highlighting its potential as a blood-based marker of Tau tangle pathology.
