Results from the first real-time assessment of a high-sensitivity point-of-care (POC) troponin I (TnI) assay have found imprecision levels consistent with hig-sensitivity characteristics and clinical performance comparable to that of a well-established and well-validated laboratory hstn I test. Dr. Ahmed Dakhshi, a cardiology research fellow and principal investigator for the MACRO-2 trial, presented the groundbreaking study at ESC Amsterdam in August 2023. This study marks the first real-time assessment of a high-sensitive POC TnI assay using whole blood in a clinical setting, with the potential to enhance cardiac care and improve patient outcomes.
