Versatile Delivery of shRNA with High-Titer Lentivirus
22 Dec 2015This application note demonstrates the gene suppressing activity of the Lenti-X™ shRNA Expression System in a wide variety of cells and tissues. Recombinant lentiviruses are extremely efficient, versatile vectors that can permanently transduce genetic material into the genome of virtually any cell. Most cell types are susceptible to infection by VSV-G pseudotyped lentivirus, including dividing and non-dividing cells, neurons, stem cells, and primary cell cultures. These features make lentivirus an ideal vector for universal shRNA delivery.

Gene Expression and Molecular CloningMolecular cloning is a set of techniques that utilizes vectors to transfer recombinant DNA into host cells and is an essential tool for investigating the expression of genes and proteins in bacterial or mammalian cells. A variety of vectors optimized for gene cloning and expression in a range of host organisms are available, alongside competent cells for genetic replication. Here, you can explore a range of molecular tools, high-quality genomic and cDNA libraries, premade clones, transformation and transfection reagents and mutagenesis or gene expression detection assays and expression arrays. RNAi requires chemical synthesis, introduction of DNA vectors into cells, an assay of RNAi effects and RNAi quantification or analysis. Consider target sequence selection, reagent preparation, controls, high specificity and effectiveness and low non-specific gene knockdown.Cell ManipulationRNARNA is a nucleic acid that plays a key role in gene expression and protein synthesis. It serves as a messenger between DNA and ribosomes, carrying genetic instructions to produce proteins. Advances in RNA-based therapies, such as mRNA vaccines and gene editing, have revolutionized treatment strategies for genetic disorders and infectious diseases.
