Validation of High-Throughput Wound Healing Assay using 3D Cell Patterning and Automated, Kinetic Imaging
7 May 2017This application note demonstrates a novel 3D wound healing assay model that can overcome 2D assay limitations. Wound healing, both acute and chronic, involves a complex internal and external choreography of signaling, in addition to interactions with neighboring cells and the surrounding environment or external stimuli, and cell migration. Historically, most wound healing assays use a scratch technique but this method is limited due to the lack of biomimetic environment, in vivo-like architecture and multi-cellular network.

Cell / Tissue CultureCell culture or tissue culture is used to study the biology of cells or tissues and to isolate cellular products in an environment which can be manipulated and well defined. Accurately control your culture environment with bioreactors or culture incubators, bind your cells to a surface or together with an extracellular matrix. Distinguish cell types with differential media or proliferate cells with certain characteristics using selective media. Enrich your media with supplements such as growth factors, sera and vitamins. Use HTS readers and integrated assay preparation / analysis workstations to screen your compounds. Identify active compounds against various HTS libraries, including membranes, proteins and peptides and HTS cell lines.
