Use of Perfused 3D Models for Cytotoxicity and Metabolism Studies

There have been extensive efforts made to develop accessible and convenient human-based models which realistically reflect human liver structure and functions to allow better prediction of liver toxicity and its metabolic functions. This application note demonstrates that the use of upcyte® Hepatocytes is preferable to conventional static 2D cultures. Moreover, upcyte® Human Hepatocytes offer the unique ability to test cells from the same donors in multiple experiments, allowing for reproducible and standardized assays.
