Saliva preparation for rare tumor cell analysis workflow
17 Nov 2025Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has long been a challenge. Low prevalence, diverse morphology, and reduced EpCAM expression all make detection difficult.
Together with Thomas Jefferson University, Bio-Rad has developed a streamlined liquid biopsy workflow using saliva to simplify rare tumor cell analysis.
Powered by the Genesis Cell Isolation System and Celselect Slides™ Technology, this new approach enriches and enumerates CTCs with greater efficiency. By using size-based selection, Bio-Rad helps overcome low yields and EpCAM variability, delivering clearer insights for cancer research.
