Revealing granzyme B secretion and cell killing dynamics

21 May 2024

Traditional bulk assays for cell characterization offer limited insights into cell population heterogeneity, crucial for developing effective immunotherapies. Samplix presents a study that introduces a novel method for single-cell analysis of granzyme B (GzmB) secretion and cell killing dynamics using the Xdrop® DE50 droplet-based system. The study aims to address this gap by co-encapsulating natural killer (NK) cells and their target K562 cells in double-emulsion droplets, enabling simultaneous detection of GzmB activity and cell death. This method provides detailed insights into the functional heterogeneity of cell populations, confirming the established role of GzmB in apoptosis and highlighting the Xdrop system's potential in advancing immune cell therapy development.
