New Options for Easy Control of the Sutter Lambda VF-1 and VF-5 Variable Filter Systems

7 May 2017

The Lambda VF-1 and VF-5 allow easy selection of any available wavelength through keypad control or through the computer interfaces (USB and RS232). This technical note details how the control firmware has been extended to offer two additional control modes that allow selection of new wavelengths without having to modify existing software. It describes the ‘triggered mode’, filter selection commands and support for the VF-1 and VF-5.

Lambda TLED - LED Transmitted Light Source

Sutter Instrument Co.

The Lambda TLED is a stand-alone LED light source that can be used with the transmitted light path of a microscope or in other applications with similar requirements. This basic system consists of an LED mounted on a special black-anodized aluminum heat sink and a controller. The Lambda TLED controller has intensity control and on-off control via a switch or TTL logic. The on-off time of the Lambda TLED is The Lambda TLED uses a high-output white light LED making it a suitable light source for contrast methods including Phase and Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) The controller runs off a rugged modular universal power supply similar to those used for laptop computers. As an alternative to the standard white-light LED, we have options for an IR-LED which is suitable for experiments requiring IR-DIC. Please contact Sutter for details. Each Lambda TLED system includes an optical mounting adapter for the microscope and detailed installation instructions. Mounting adapters are designed to fit most models of Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss and Leica microscopes. Custom adapters for the Lambda TLED are available at an additional cost.
