Efficient Method for Scaling-Up Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells using Falcon® Multi-Flasks

9 Aug 2015

The use of single layer T-flasks can be time consuming, cumbersome and labor intensive for cell culture applications, requiring large numbers of cells. However, ongoing research into the use of multi-layered vessels is required to ensure environmental stability between layers which may affect the yield, homogeneity and potential functional performance of cell populations. In this application note, the success of scaling-up human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) in Falcon® Multi-Flasks is accessed through cell growth and characteristics in comparison to cells grown in control T-175 flasks.
