Determination of soil microbial biomass by TOC/TNb measurement
27 Jul 2026This application note from Analytik Jena demonstrates the use of multi N/C® 2300 and 3300 analyzers for measuring extractable organic carbon (EOC) and extractable nitrogen (EN) in soil extracts used for microbial biomass determination. The study shows reliable, automated total organic carbon (TOC)/total nitrogen (TN) analysis of high-salt soil extraction matrices with strong long-term stability and reproducibility.
