Determination of Method Detection Limits for Chlorinated Acids in Ground and Drinking Water utilizing an Automated SPE-DEX® System

21 Jul 2016

This application note presents EPA Method 515.2, which is applicable to the determination of chlorinated acids in ground water and finished drinking water. Analytes are extracted from the water using a DVB-Hydrophobic disk and the Horizon Technology SPE-DEX® 4770 Automated Extraction System and final analysis is done by GC/ECD. This work on the determination of method detection limits (MDLs) for chlorinated acids demonstrates the capability of the Horizon Technology SPE-DEX® 4770 for the automated SPE of organic compounds.

Gas ChromatographyGas chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used to separate and quantitate mixtures of small and volatile compounds. Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors.
