Airborne Wood Rot Fungi Detection in Houses Damaged by Serpula Lacrymans

12 Sept 2017

Serpula lacrymans’ mycelium can spread extensively on timber and other building materials in built up areas. Asthma due to the fungi's spores has already been established, but little is known about other potential health risks due to exposure to the fungi. This application note describes the collection of bioaerosols from houses contaminated with S. lacrymans in order to investigate their biological characteristics.

Coriolis µ - Air Sampler

Bertin Technologies

The Coriolis Micro portable biological air sampler is a standard for testing air quality. Both indoors and outdoors, it’s the most efficient biological air sampler: It can take just 10 minutes to collect airborne particles using its cyclonic technology paired with a high suction rate. By generating samples in the fluid phase, Coriolis µ is compatible with rapid microbiological analysis methods.
