Automated transfusion analyzer
The ORTHO VISION Max automated transfusion analyzer is intended to allow the user capability to walk-away while performing blood banking. And for the most part, it does. However I find it a bit silly that most of the maintenance requires the user to acknowledge every little step. It's highly annoying that I have to acknowledge on the touch screen whenever I open the door (touch), remove and empty the waste chamber (touch), replace the waste chamber (touch), shut the door (touch), etc. That is not walk away capability and for this reason I sort of hate the thing. The reports functionality is extremely poor also. There are basically no configurable reports or any way to manage and document reviews. But, once the analyzer if up and running for the day, it is nice to have the automated testing.

Blood bank test
It is user friendly and very reliable, gel technology gives less fals positive reaction than solid phase does. VISION Max will be perfect for our facility. We can run more samples at a time and run stat and routine samples at the same time. It is easy to operate, less maintenance to perform, everything is done by the touch of the screen.
