More initial training, but overall great product!

The Analyzer is effective for the purposes our office needs. We do feel that a more in depth hands on training would have benefited us better. We had a big learning curve due to the personnel that are utilizing the analyzer not having a background in laboratory equipment. It set us back in our expected timeline to be up and running 100%, because there was so much we didn't know. The technical support has been excellent!!!

BS-200 is very easy to assay and maintain. The QC for assays is good and the price of reagents are very reasonable. The technical service is great. We are very happy to have it at the lab.

Student Medical Laboratory Science Lab
This instrument is perfect for our needs. It provides some automation for the students to see, and many of the fundamental concepts that they need to see prior to their fieldwork, such as troubleshooting and calibration. We have only used it for one semester and will incorporate more concepts into the 2nd semester this fall. We have noted that when we first start the instrument up, the first control seems to be out of control and will come in once repeated.

Perform routine chemistry testing on serum samples
This instrument is used in our student simulation chemistry laboratory. Since this is the first introduction the Clinical Laboratory Science students have with an automated instrument, it is very important that the instrument is simple to operate, has user friendly software and is pretty much idiot proof. We have had two classes come through our program since we purchased the instrument and have had no instrument issues. Great instrument for low volume labs. The only drawback I have observed is the user's manual appears to be translated from another language and is at times hard to understand.

Good instrument.
Screen for drug classes and test for specimen validity
The results are good and reproducible for most of the tests I run. I have trouble with the Buprenorphine, TCA, and THC assays, apparently due to their low cut-offs. The machine is great for running a relatively small number of tests. It takes a lot of time and attention to run a lot of tests. The after sales care is very attentive, though sometimes their knowledge is spotty. The machine is a pretty good value and mechanically reliable.

The analyzer is very user friendly. The service that we received during installation was wonderful. Very knowledgeable installation techs. We have had a few issues with the analyzer and the service from Kevin Johns has been great. He is extremely helpful. The students also find the analyzer easy to use. The results are reliable.
