The IC is very efficient and effective at getting quick results. It can easily change application such as changing from anions to cations. The results obtained are of a high quality with normally a good repeatability. It is reasonably easy to use and self explanatory, the IC help manual is useful when needed. It is an expensive piece of equipment however study and reliable and rarely have issues. The only thing which is annoying is how expensive the columns can be, especially with the microchip you have to buy metros brand.

Water analysis
We are using a Metrohm ion chromatograph for our water samples from our process plant and water treatment plant. In anion, IC is used for all types of process water samples which contain sulphides. In high sulphide samples are very difficult to estimate anionic compounds like chloride, nitrates, sulphates and phosphates. In cation, IC is very helpful for our samples which contains ammonia and sulphides. Traditional methods for ammonia analysis are not possible and with IC we are able to ammonia in sour water samples from process plants. METROHM IC is a versatile instrument for any type of aqueous sample and has very precise and repeatable values. Even calibration is very easy and has no cumbersome operations. The design layout of ICMagic net software is very well done and easy to understand the functionality. Overall we are very satisfied with the products. After-sales service is very good and engineers are very versatile not only in instrument part but also in application methods.
