"My colleague and I were awarded use of the FlowCam5000 for our undergraduate oceanography course through FlowCam's new Undergraduate Student Equipment Grant opportunity. The FlowCam5000 was easily incorporated into our course, allowing us to use high-throughput image analysis to characterize natural marine phytoplankton populations and involve students in the process of authentic data collection and analysis. The FlowCam5000 produces quality data for phytoplankton ecologists, and the ViSp software is both powerful and easy to use. Throughout our use of the FlowCam5000, we were provided with lightning fast and informative technical support. Friendly, thoughtful, and helpful technical support contributed to our success of collecting data and involving students in the process. Through our use of the FlowCam5000 this semester, we have inspired future marine scientists and phytoplankton aficionados; many of these students will go on to fields of oceanography, environmental science, and engineering."
