Sample processing (blood and bone marrow)
The CellMek SPS is an impressive automated sample preparation system. It allows for the programming of different preparation techniques used in Flow Cytometry, e.g. Stain/Lyse/No-wash, Wash/Lyse/Stain/Wash, Stain/Lyse/Wash, etc. Programming it is quite easy - the software is intuitive. It has a cell wash module built-in, and a refrigerated module for holding the antibodies. Everything in the system is bar-coded, which helps minimise/eliminate human error. Even the worklist for the cytometer is automatically generated and saved in a spreadsheet. The system handles the processing part efficiently, which frees up significant time for the lab technicians to work on the more complex part of flow cytometric testing.
