However, the image from one of these is far clearer than from a glass hemocytometer. We use them a lot but unfortunately we can no longer order them from the UK (to Germany) because of considerable additional admin and so are looking for alternate products"

"In 2 years of use, our lab has never had a problem with manufacturing or otherwise, this product allows for great reproducibility because during staff qualifications for cell counting, we find almost no difference in counting. The only problem that can be encountered is the filling of the overflow gutter during counting if we have not previously filled it. En 2 ans d'utilisation, notre laboratoire a jamais eu de problème de fabrication ou autre, ce produit permet une grande reproductibilité car lors des qualifications du personnel pour le comptage de cellules, nous trouvons presque aucune différence de comptage. "The product is very useful. We use these counting chambers especially when we have a lot of samples to count. To avoid the preparation of counting chambers multiple times we found these disposable counting chambers that do not have to be built up in advance. Therefore we save a lot of time. The price, we have to admit, is quite high for just a few counting chambers. However, regarding reproducibility and easy/fast handling, we recommend these. In regards to the after-sales care: It is an easy-to-use product and we have not required any further assistance up to now. The spreadsheet which comes along with the product contains all the necessary information to work with the counting chambers. Absolutely recommended!!!"

"Our lab uses NanoEntek's disposable hemocytometer routinely and achieved great publishable results from our cell-based experiments. From checking cell viability to counting cell density for seeding purposes, the hemocytometer never fails to deliver accurate quantification of cell density for us. Usage of the hemocytometer is ultra-intuitive and simpler than the classical glass-based hemocytometer; you don't have to worry about it from breaking! Disappoted. Cells fall into grid, making them hard to count and image.

"I read glowing reviews for this product, and was looking forward to trying a hemocytometer which doesn't need cleaning and doesn't have a tendency to incorporate air bubbles, which our glass hemocytometer has. However, I was severely disappointed to see about half of the cells in my sample lodge themselves into the carved grids in the counting chamber, making it impossible to focus on them and introducing significant counting errors. When cells fall down into the intersection between four grids, it becomes especially hard to see them. I observed higher variability and significantly poorer images using the C-Chip than our old hemocytometer. I can really not recommend this product based on my experience, and I am surprised to see that I am apprantly the first person observing this problem."

"I use these during for cell culture teaching practicals. Using the C-chips makes perofrming multiple cells counts with numerous students possible, affordable and safe. The cover slip on tradiitonal glass haemocytometers are prone to breaking, especially with inexperienced users and they get strached easily. Additionally, we never have enough to go around therefore it slows everything down. The C-chip slides are an easy to use, convientent for large groups, disposable and safer alterntive. Additionally, there is no clean up required again speeding up the process when you have multiple counts to do. I consider these essential when teaching practicals that require cell counting."

"The product is really easy to use, especially in comparison with the old Haemocytometer. The learning curve of cell counting is significantly shortened when using the C-Chips from Nanotek. Because the glass is fixed and the chip only allows the introduction of the suspension in a small hole, the user can be 100% sure that cells won’t float or shift during counting and that the number of cells obtained is reliable. I believe there is not a big difference between different users, which makes the product overall very trustworthy. The C-Chips definitely served the purpose and were a worthy purchase. I value the wide variety of counting chambers that exist, but I believe users should be familiar with the types and make sure they are purchasing the desired counting chamber."

"This product is very effective and is way easier than using a reusable hemocetomyter. It’s clearly labeled and holds about 10uL of liquid per well. It’s really helpful for growth curve experiments (which I do a lot of!). "When the salesperson approached us with the product, we were not ready to trust them. They provided the samples and we tested them. The results were amazing, reproducible and affordable. Our cell culture lab is very small in size and limited researchers are allowed to work, due to traditional cell counting, they have to wait for a long time to complete the work. It affects other researchers' ongoing work they have to wait for the person to complete it. I thank NanoEntek which have reduced the time for cell counting to be complete and our students are very happy. After that I was surprised to hear about the price which is reasonable and very importantly affordable for developing country scientists like me."

"Procuct is used on a daily bases to assess the concentration of spermatozoa is patient sperm sample. We treat about 30 patients each businessday and make 4 count per sample. The chips are extremely easy to use and allow quick manipulation of the samples, which is a key componant considering the amount of sample we analyze. Countings are made in double and appear extremely reproducible. Microscop light is passing well through the plastic of the chip and spermatozoa are easy to see in the analyzed fields. I can only recommand the product since I could just not work with it."

Can be used, however the level of craftsmanship and quality need to be improved.

The lined area and other blank areas in the middle cannot be accurately distinguished from the samples in the same field of view, and the focal length needs to be adjusted continuously.
