  • Application Area: Amino acid analysis of freeze dried samples from plants, insects, and fish

"The ARACUS system is great for easy analysis of amino acids in different tissues (physiological analysis). The machine is running very reliably. Using the physiological standards provided, easy identification and quantification can be performed. It is very important to perform a deproteinization step using the sample preparation kit from membraPure before analysis and filtration of samples through 0.22 µm filter. Great separation of amino acids in extracts can be obtained from different freeze dried material of plants, insects, and fish. The analysis of amino acids with ARACUS is easier and more convenient compared to the ninhydrin pre-column derivatization. Furthermore, though we haven’t had any problems, the service has been very helpful, and we found the company very understanding of the needs of the scientific community."

"We have been using ARACUS since 2012. The initial focus was the improvement of the detection sensitivity for the identification of different types of mould fungi by analyzing their amino acid profile in a research project. We worked closely with the application specialists and finished the project successfully. Within the last years, we were analyzing profiles from food without any significant trouble with our ARACUS."

"Excellent system. Software is manageable. Support is outstanding. We use the instrument in a clinical diagnostic laboratory and have found it to be very reliable, requiring little maintenance. We do have some issues getting consumables into the US."

"We have been using Aracus since 2014. Through this time we have analyzed different types of probes from rat saliva to new drugs with high resolution and reproducibility. During the exploitation period there was some problem with equipment. All problems have been solved by local after sale service and their German colleague."

"Aracus has a local model (A300) in China. It has been 6 years since we first used this excellent instrument in our lab. It is very convenient for analyzing all kinds of hydrolyzed and free amino acids, easy to use as every process is fully automatic. Resolution and reproducibility are excellent compared to pharmacopoeia or official measurement documents. We mainly use the system to analyze feedstuff, food and health-care products, the results always have a high accuracy. It’s very user-friendly!"

ARACUS works on the principle of golden standard, the post-column derivatization with ninhydrin, and the detection at 440nm and 570nm using maintenance-free LED photometers.

With a separation of more than 50 amino acids by cation exchange chromatography and a detection limit of < 2 nmol/mL, ARACUS offers the customer a wide range of application fields:

  • Determination of free/physiological amino acids in blood plasma, dried blood spots, serum salvia, and urine (e.g. New Born Screening)
  • Determination of hydrolyzed amino acids in food, beverages, and feedstuff
  • Determination of biogenic amine for the investigation of metabolic processes (plants animals, humans)

ARACUS advantages:
