As Long as everything is working it is very easy to use. Does use a lot of Type I water. With the autosampler makes analysis process very easy. Can take a while to get through a whole rack of samples though, depending on the length of run time. Needs to live in a room less than 30 degrees C. Somewhat specialized to anions but can do cations also.

IC flex 930 is a robust chromatography tool and it offers a user friendly interface with star of the art analyses set up. The Chromatography columns provide refined and accurate results with high reliability. The pumps and the suppressor is working just fine even after 6 years of marathon sample testing. I have tested over 50000 samples in this IC and it's still producing highly accurate and repeatable results. It is a very good tool.

The instrument works well and the results are very consistent. I would love it if Metrohm made manuals that were specific to each instrument package/ flow path. I have struggled finding the information I need between the many manuals available, and even then the information does not account for flow path or add-on instruments down the flow path. I also would appreciate a more friendly ordering website as the pictures do not always match the products and it can be difficult to find the products I am looking for (an example is the custom anion mix 3). Overall it has been a good experience but it has required some extra effort from me as an analyst to make sense of the manuals and where specific information is. Even though we paid for a tech to set up and train our lab analysts on the machine the help files he gave us did not include all the manuals we needed.

Our 930 Compact IC Flex has been in use for about 6 years now and has been remarkably stable. We use it for anion analysis utilizing the EPA 300.0 method. When paired with an eluent production module and an autosampler, the IC can run for days on end without any additional intervention. The software is intuitive and well-designed, while lacking a few more granular settings. Price increases for consumables have been pretty eye-popping. Some have increased 30-50%+ during COVID and the prices have not fallen since, even in 2023, when most consider the supply constraints caused by COVID to have been alleviated. The store tends to nickel and dime you for very small parts. A single proprietary tube size adapter can go for $49 each! Support is very responsive, however, and has walked me through several issues via email and phone. I'd recommend their ICs, though you will pay dearly for their reliability.

From a technical point of view, the instrument proposed by Metrohm Italiana is equipped with a suppressor made up of three packed cartridges: an automatic system allows one column to be used for analysis and the other two are subjected to regeneration and washing respectively. This suppression system allows the instrument to have high sensitivity and stability over time, when compared to the suppression system used in other products. Furthermore, based on previous experience, the following further strengths of the system offered by Metrohm are highlighted: rapid stabilization times and the need for reduced maintenance interventions; Furthermore, Metrohm offers consolidated and reliable technical assistance in the area over time.

I had already worked in the past with a Metrohm ion chromatograph (about 25 years ago) and the progress made is notable. The tool is easy to use both in the hardware and software parts. Certainly switching from another manufacturer's software to MagIC Net requires application, but the structure is very intuitive and you quickly become familiar with the various functions. However, after-sales support is another security: the staff is available to resolve any doubts. Furthermore, the videos that explain the maintenance operations that can be done directly are very useful.
