Featuring all-electric operation, the Ultraseal ePRO (formerly the eSeal) removes the risk of cross-contamination inherent in compressed air-powered sealers. The use of force sensors allows dynamic feedback during the entire sealing process to ensure homogenous sealing, all controlled through the intuitive touchscreen interface. Capable of handling foil lengths between 116mm and 128mm, the eSeal automatically compensates for variations in plate heights.

This unit utilizes a roll of surface-modified aluminum or plastic film, approximately 78 mm wide and 600 m long which creates a secure seal between the plate and the film.

In this application note, Kbiosystems introduces the Ultraseal PRO unit, an automated heat-applied microplate and tube rack sealer. The unit operates using a roll of surface-modified aluminum or plastic film, measuring approximately 78 mm wide and 610 m long. This roll is positioned at the rear of the sealing section via a removable stand. Using a total inline process, the film is drawn through the main unit, cut to a length between 125 mm and 130 mm, and then applied to the plate's top surface, creating a secure seal between the plate and the film.
