Good value for the money.
Sample and procedure management
eLAB is a relatively easy to use and is a good value for the money- especially for small companies. The ability to tailor the product to our needs is great. There are some great features that I use - like the search list function which helps us capture KPIs and keep track of what samples are still in the queue. Having the web-based product has been great to cut down on the use of paper and helps with version control with our methods and procedures. The ability to design a procedure to change input variables without editing the entire procedure (such as adjust mobile phase volume) has been super useful. The Excel like functions are a bit clunky which has slowed down the progression to total transfer to eLab. It would be great if it was more intregrative with Excel so that more complicated formulas and graphs could be designed directly in eLab. The font size is also a bit off as the font appears much smaller in eLab than with Word or Excel. The mobile apps are great for getting a good overview and reviewing procedures and methods. It would be even better if direct input were possible, i.e.- inputing samples directing using the app and not having to use the web.

Track sample, chemical and equipment inventory
It works for much of what we do. Some features that would help us a lot are missing or hard to figure out. I don't see a lot of product improvement and further development happening over time.

Great tool for organizing inventory; search function etc could be more user-friendly.
Inventory of cell and protein samples
Great way to keep track of inventory. One of the main drawbacks is the difficulty in reorganizing inventory boxes in the lab notebook. The search function could be more streamlined and have more filters as well. Sometimes, the search function malfunctions. For instance, if you search "Antibody," the item you are looking for may not show up in the list, but when you specify "Antibody Protein," it does come up.
